I am María Lodeiro, a freelance Rigging Supervisor living in A Coruña, Galicia. I am currently working closely with Lightbox Animation Studios on innovative and challenging projects, bringing my technical and artistic expertise of over 20 years in the animation industry.
Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in the animation industry, working with renowned studios such as Skydance Animation, Ilion Animation Studios, Studio Nowake, B-Water Studios, and CIGames. At Skydance and Ilion, I contributed to the creation of advanced tools to optimise animation processes with autorigs and in the creation of quadruped, biped, and fantastical characters; I also had the opportunity to supervise rigging on the film “Dragon Keeper”. My experience at Studio Nowake and B-Water Studios allowed me to lead teams and develop specific technical solutions for each project, such as in the film “Wish Dragon”, an exciting project, or more recently “Kayara”.
These experiences have enabled me to make significant contributions to the technical and artistic development of animation in every project I have been part of, providing solutions in various rigging methods.
In addition to my studio work, I have shared my knowledge and experience as a rigging mentor at the Animum Creativity Advanced School and in the Master’s in Video Games at Ferrol, among others, guiding other professionals and students in their technical and artistic development.
Since 2017, I have been working independently, focusing on the supervision and development of specific rigging tools and learning new technical skills. I consider myself a versatile, organised, and committed person, with extensive technical and artistic knowledge. What I am most passionate about is supervising and leading teams, enjoying collaboration and continuous learning. Working in a team and helping my colleagues achieve our common goals is one of my greatest motivations.
Animation is my passion, and I am always in search of new challenges and opportunities to continue growing professionally. My dedication to technical and artistic excellence in rigging drives me to contribute to every project I am involved in.
